Candidates for the Combined Defense Services, or CDS, examination must submit their applications in order to attend the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training School, Indian Navy Academy, or Indian Air Force Academy. The UPSC conducts the CDS examination twice a year (Union Public Services Commission). The Service Selection Board (SSB) will contact the applicant for an interview after they have passed or cleared the test, and the successful candidates will be assigned to specific training facilities. The applicants who want to join these defense forces must through several tests and circumstances to determine whether they meet the requirements. Military life is full of responsibilities and duties. Aspirants are selected based on their physical stamina, mental stability, grit, ability to work well in a team, readiness, responsiveness, and other qualities necessary by the armed forces. Some candidates decide to self-study for the CDS exam, while others decide to take no chances and enrol in an institute for superior training.
